REAGENTSSexually transmitted infections (STIs)

Multiple results from a single test

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) have a significant impact on sexual and reproductive health around the world, with more than 1 million new infections per day worldwide. The four most common STIs are: chlamydia, gonorrhoea, syphilis and trichomoniasis. These figures highlight the need to approach their diagnosis from a public health perspective.

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are mostly transmitted through unprotected sexual contact, as well as during pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. They can also be transmitted via infected blood or blood products. In terms of symptoms, most STIs are asymptomatic, but when they do cause symptoms they can have serious consequences that extend beyond the immediate impact of the infection.

For this reason, Vitro provides two kits that enable the early detection of infections, thereby helping to prevent the long-term complications associated with STIs.

DNA FLOW ITS

Simultaneous detection of 12 pathogens that cause sexually transmitted diseasesSTD Direct FLOW CHIP

Ref: MAD-003938M-HS - 24 determinations

Kit details
The STD Direct Flow Chip kit can simultaneously detect 12 pathogens ( Chlamydia trachomatis (serovars A-K), Chlamydia trachomatis (serovars L1-L3), Haemophilus ducreyi, Herpes simplex virus 1, Herpes simplex virus 2, Mycoplasma genitalium, Mycoplasma hominis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Treponema pallidum, Trichomonas vaginalis and Ureaplasma (urealyticum/parvum).

It also detects the human beta globin gene, as an internal control of the quality of the starting and amplification material.

In order to prevent contamination with previous PCR products, the mix contains the uracil-DNA glycosylase enzyme (Cod UNG), which degrades PCR products containing dUTP.

Real time ITS

STI CNM Real Time PCR Kit

Ref: MAD-003948M-W - 100 determinations

Kit details:
In vitro diagnostic kit for the qualitative detection of the DNA of pathogenic organisms that cause sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in humans such as Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Mycoplasma genitalium.

It also detects the human beta globin gene, as an internal control of the quality of the starting and amplification material.

In order to prevent contamination with previous PCR products, the mix contains the uracil-DNA glycosylase enzyme (Cod UNG), which degrades PCR products containing dUTP.

STI CNM
TARGET
  • Chlamydia trachomatis
  • Neisseria gonorrhoeae

El kit Vitro HPV Screening está validado para usar en la mayoría de los extractores del mercado, incluyendo los extractores propios de Vitro: MAIS y Victoria V96.

MonkeyPox Virus Real Time PCR Kit

Ref: MAD-003969M - 50 determinations

Kit details:
The Monkeypox Virus Real Time PCR Kit enables the qualitative detection of the virus that causes monkeypox, covering variants from the Congo Basin (Central Africa) and West Africa.

The target gene for the detection of the monkeypox virus is F3L.

MonkeyPox Virus
TARGET
  • Monkeypox virus
  • Beta globin

Population screening programmes are essential for detecting STIs

The guidelines recommend the population screening of women under 25 years of age and/or over 25 years of age and at risk of infection, using molecular assays to detect sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Providing same-day treatment is vitally important. The proposed solution involves using molecular methods to accurately identify a variety of pathogens, with the convenience of only needing a single patient sample. This approach has a significant impact, reducing the unnecessary use of antibiotics, improving the patient’s quality of life and preventing the spread of disease. These measures are part of a comprehensive strategy that seeks not only to treat the infection, but also to prevent its spread and improve the efficiency of treatment.
